Balance the game and it's stores so that a crew of 3-4 can always just barely get through each encounter, but also give it an endpoint. If the game has a relatively defined end time this task is made much easier. It's kind of a pain sometimes to get a crew of 3-4 friends together, online, all at once for the same start time. At it's core, this is intended to be a co-op experience to be played with friends. If you're creative about it, you can get by with only adding an extra model or two for human/drone/alien races, and simply vary the paint job per the roles as Eve Online did for quite awhile.Īlso: as in FTL, give the game an ending. I want to feel threatened every jump, as in FTL by a random enemy that I know could be a specialized tank, kite, virus, or DPS boat. Different enemies, boarding parties, better aggro AI when dealing with multiple opponents. My biggest suggestion: Please focus on adding the content you obviously intend to add. Towards the end I started 'accidentally' flipping on the distress signal ruining our stealth, and drawing aggro from up to 5 opponents, but since they were all so spread out, they still came in one at a time, and when someone would turn off the beacon, they'd just go back to idling unless we were actively shooting at them. We ended up just quitting when we felt that there was no more for us to really see other than attacking scout drones and occasional tactical drone. We could two & three shot opponents, and they never came at us more than one at a time. It didn't seem like the world was scaling with us. Everything died once we had this figured out, there was no stopping us. Our general tactic was to fly as close as we could before getting detected, stop their engines, and I'd have the bots & myself open up at point blank range while our Pilot stayed on them, watching facing and mitigating damage. I was captain/main gunner, with the other two humans on pilot and Science, with the weapon & Engineering bot manning the turrets. We were cruising around space with 2x Scattercannons, main weapon, high stealth, stop engine viruses and 1k of shield & health. It was a ton of fun, and we had a ship that we felt could take all comers! When he went to bed the rest of our crew started a new ship without him just because we were really getting the hang of it. I was dragged into playing by a backer, and ended up having a fucking fantastic time. I haven't played an alpha-stage game this functional for LONG time.
